Gardening Mama - Ninetendo DS

This is a sweet little game. After the Cooking Mama series, the Gardening Mama moves to the outdoors and does some hard work to grow her lot of gardens.

You will find it surprisingly fulfilling to prepare a patch of earth for the plants, do lots of hard work on it and then watch as the plants grow because of your hard work. The stylus is used for controls. Even a small mistake like swishing it in the wrong direction can result in disaster. If you happen to make a wrong move the mama will comfort you saying “Don’t worry, Mama will take care of it” but the fire in her eyes will surely make you realize that you have let her down. For each plant to be planted you will need to complete at least 8-10 minigames. Sometimes these mini games may appear repetitive but as you progress the difficulty level will increase and you will get to plant some exotic varieties of plants; each one with different set of needs. Also if you like designing then Gardening Mama has something for you as in the option “Decorate the Garden! and Make It Fancy!” It lets you decorate the garden as well as mama with fancy items that you have unlocked after earning bonuses in the timed minigames you play.

Even though the multi-player option isn’t all that great, with the cute and colorful visuals and Mama’s slightly accented voice, this is certainly an entertaining game with adorable characters and some nice music, which is recycled through the game.
