Use RAM to Improve System Performance

RAM or random access memory is required in a computer for the booting process. A computer cannot be started without some RAM. Initially, there was only one type of RAM but today there are various types of RAMs available in the market. The types of RAMs vary with the changes in the generations of computers. The RAM determines the speed of data processing in the computer and impacts the overall performance of the computer. Additional RAM can be inserted into the computer to increase the speed of the computer.

Some people are not aware about the functioning of the RAM and go for replacement of the CPU or the central processing unit to increase the speed of the computer. Replacement of a CPU means that the motherboard of the computer also needs to be changes and it costs a lot to the user. A cheaper alternative is the up gradation of RAM in the same CPU. Installing additional RAM is a very simple task and even you can do it within a minute. Installing additional RAM is also one of the popular ways for memory upgrade.

The initial RAM chips were dual inline packages, also known as DIP, and inserted directly into the sockets on the system board. Some of the computers also use an alternate of RAM, that is, a cache memory. Cache memory is faster than random access memory and its presence in the computer improves the efficiency.
